On April 18, as part of the Science Month program “SCIENCE – THE FOUNDATION FOR SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT OF THE MANGYSTAU REGION,” Yessenov University hosted the University Startup Marathon-2024 project competition titled “From Idea to Product Creation.” The “QazPrint” team, consisting of second-year students of the “Electrical Power Engineering” and “Automated Process Control Systems” educational programs, Daniyar Sarsenbay and Murat Abatbay, took 3rd place. Supervisor: Danabek Saldyrovich Saduakasov. The competition was very engaging and fair. The students’ knowledge, filled with innovative ideas, impressed both the audience and the jury. The teams were awarded certificates and prizes in turn.

In honor of Science Day, Yessenov University hosted a scientific section of the Yessenov Youth Forum on the topic “Integrated Solutions for Sustainable Development: Perspectives of Hydrogen Energy, Oil Refining, and Environmental Sustainability,” aimed at students, graduate students, and young scientists. Students, graduate students, and doctoral candidates from the Faculty of Engineering actively participated in the section. The participants highlighted the relevance of their scientific research, provided clear answers to questions from the commission and other attendees, and as a result, earned appropriate placements. Graduate student of the “Industrial Heat Power Engineering” program, Gulzada Yklasovna Dzharylgasova, under the scientific supervision of associate professor of the “Energy and Automation” department, Zh.F. Ozhikenova, was awarded second place with her research titled “Analysis of Methods for Reducing Sulfur Oxides at Thermal Power Plants.” Additionally, S.G. Sherstyukov with the topic “Analysis of the Influence of Hydrogen Concentration in Gas Turbine Fuel Mixtures to Reduce the Impact of Exhaust Gases on the Environment,” and J. Aitbayuly with the topic “Analysis of Methods for Reducing Toxic Emissions from Gas Turbine Engines” received certificates. All participants in the section were awarded certificates and commemorative gifts from the university.

The Accreditation, Certification, and Quality Assurance Institute (ACQUIN) is a German accreditation agency established in 2001 and accredited that same year by the German Accreditation Council, with subsequent reaccreditations in 2006 and 2011. Currently, more than 100 educational institutions from Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Hungary, and other countries are members of the agency. ACQUIN’s key characteristics are independence, fairness, and high quality. ACQUIN is a non-profit organization that finances its activities through membership fees from universities and conducting accreditation processes. The agency’s mission is to enhance education quality standards in universities, accredit all types of institutions, programs, and disciplines, and promote the internationalization of German higher education. From April 6 to April 9, Yessenov University successfully passed the accreditation for the program 6B07106 — Electrical Power Engineering at the Accreditation, Certification, and Quality Assurance Institute (ACQUIN).
